With the festive season upon us, we wanted to highlight some of the best events in the area, local to Marbella and further afield:
Marbella
Tuesday 6th of December – Christmas Market in La Virginia – Every year the picturesque village of La Virginia hosts a delightful Artisan Market in which you can find wonders for this Christmas. The market starts at 11 am and ends at sun down.
Saturday 10th December – Various Events:
12.30: Flamenco Zambomba/Parade & Christmas Show – ‘Hermandad Virgen del Carmen de Marbella’ to be celebrated on the paseo de la Alameda in the Centre of Marbella
16.30 Inauguration Nativity Scene “Belén en Marbella”, by El Calvario Huerta Belón on calle Jacinto Benavente, Las Cuevas Park, there will be various activities including the blessing and entrance of the nativity, a musical show, and tasting of traditional christmas foods and produce.
Thursday 15th December – Christmas Parade (Pasacalles de Navidad) – “The Arrival of Father Christmas” and the opening grotto installed on paseo de la Alameda, accompanied by musical performance. This parade will fill the hearts of children with happiness and excitement for the magic of Christmas. The opening of the grotto will follow the ending of the parade.
Finally there will be a childrens show with entertainment “Juega la Navidad” taking place on paseo de la Alameda.
17th December – Charity Christmas Fair by CUDECA – Zambomba, organized by the Flamenco Dance Workshop and the Art and Culture Guitar Workshop, for the benefit of local charity CUDECA, in La Represa park, with the following activities:
Opening to the public of the event 11:30am – Tour of a small town divided into several stands, simulating Bethlehem, with clothing and decoration of the time.
12:00 Live performances of dance, guitar and poetry recital by the students of the flamenco dance and guitar workshops.
13:30 Entrance of the Three Kings and Royal Postman
14:00 End of the event 12:00 pm “Llarte” Festival on Pablo Ráez Boulevard, with concerts and different activities
16:30 Pastoral Contest in the Chapel of Santo Cristo with the following activities: Pastoral parade starting from Plaza Santo Cristo, ending in Santo Cristo square. Immediately afterwards, the Pastoral Contest begins in the Chapel of Santo Cristo with churros and hot chocolate for all attendees.
21st December – Santa Claus will tour the streets of the city, starting at 18.00pm, accompanied by Motoclub “Los Mentirosos”, ending at the Marbella arch. For the full itinerary please see the link below*.
23rd December – Parade of the Festival Delegation – to take place on Avenida Nabeul at 18.00pm. See the link below for the route/itinerary*.
29th December – Visit of the Royal Postman in preparation of three kings.
The Royal Postman will visit the Pollinica Chapel so that all the boys and girls who wish can deliver their letters. Organ concert and the Escolania Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación. Organist Michael Reckling.
31st December – New Year’s Eve
Celebration of the New Year’s Eve mini chimes in the Church square. All the boys and girls will enjoy a children’s party, grapes, sweets and an entertainment show.

10th, 17th & 24th December @ 11am – Breakfast with Santa – Great venue for families and kids to meet the man himself and enjoy a breakfast and a drink for €15, with under 2’s going free of charge.
15th December @ 13.30pm – Triple A Charity Meal – Support the largest local dog shelter and fantastic group of volunteers with a two course lunch and free flowing Cava at La Sala.
19th December @ 19.00pm – Michael Buble Christmas Tribute – Embrace those festive feels as you enjoy a fabulous evening with one of the most celebrated current performers.
Gibraltar
November 26th to January 6th – Christmas Fair in John Mackintosh Square – Make a day of visiting Gibraltar while the annual Christmas fair is running throughout December. Enjoy rides and some festive treats just off of the bustling Main Street with excellent shopping and plenty of cafes and restaurants to enjoy. The fair is open from 12pm – 19pm
10th and 17th Dec – Tea with Santa on the Sunborn – An incredible location for the family to meet Santa himself onboard the iconic yacht-hotel, all while enjoying an afternoon tea. From 14.30pm – 17pm.
San Pedro
10th December – Christmas Market – Christmas Market where merchants showcase their best Christmassy products and promotions. Market location Calle Lagasca, Calle Córdoba and Calle Marqués del Duero. From 10:00 a.m. to 20:00pm
17th December – Malaga Cheese Market – Cheese lovers will love this unique event at the Plaza de la Iglesia in San Pedro. Enjoy cheeses made with milk from Málaga farms.
27th December – Annual Concert of the Enclave Joven Association – Performance by individual artists and local groups. in C / Marqués del Duero. Free entrance, until capacity is completed.
30th December – Concert by Malaga Brass Band – Enjoy ahat will delight us with Christmas themes and classics for the enjoyment of children and adults. In Paseo Las Palmeras.
