Where has this year gone? Christmas is nearly here and New Year’s Eve is hot on its heels. What are your plans for the most important party night of the year? If you’re still deciding, then how about to celebrate in Marbella?

We love New Year’s Eve on the Costa del Sol, as there’s something for everyone, whether you want a chilled out winter getaway or want to be more active.

There are many house parties going on over New Year, but what about getting your mates together in a luxury holiday home for a winter getaway? If you have a group of friends or large family you could book an amazing luxury villa including bar area, games room, and even heated swimming pool. Now that’s what I call bringing in the New Year in style! Our holiday villa Penati is a perfect choice.

If all the New Year fuss leaves you cold, take advantage of the sunshine and warm winters here on the Costa del Sol to have an active break. Imagine hiking up La Concha mountain on New Year’s Eve and rewarding yourself with a delicious meal in the evening to welcome 2021. How about playing golf on New Year ’s Day under sunny skies, or hiring a bike and riding along the seafront promenade for lunch with a view? It’s all there for you! You can rent a great holiday home right on the fairways and choose from over 70 golf courses for a round, it’s a wonderful time of year for a golf holidays.

October to December are the perfect months to get active, with cooler temperatures but plenty of sunshine. If you’re sporty, you could play a round of golf at one of the 70 golf courses on the Costa del Sol, jog along the seafront promenade each day or ride a horse in many equestrian places along the coast.

Alternatively, why not take to your bike, and explore on two wheels? The Costa del Sol is a great place for cycling, with miles of seafront promenades to enjoy, plus lots of great routes for mountain biking.

Another great option is to hike some of the beautiful routes into the countryside, which is so close to the hustle and bustle of the coast. The countryside is beautiful, and you can walk for miles along marked trails, or just wander amongst the trees and find a perfect picnic spot. From there you can do the ultimate challenge, which is to climb up the iconic La Concha mountain, which dominates the Marbella skyline. This is a challenging hike, not to be underestimated, as it takes around 6 hours to climb to the top and back and there are some treacherous sections. There are people who organise group hikes, with experienced leaders and we’d recommend going with them if it’s your first time up.
